The Lady Redmen (7-6, 4-4) traveled to Holy Name High School to take on the Green Wave (4-8, 3-5) in a Great Lake Conference Matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Redmen got off to a hot start outscoring the Namers 10-1 before the Green Wave could find their rhythm offensively. The Redmen ended the first quarter with a 15-9 lead. The second quarter the Redmen held a double digit lead for most of the second quarter until Jacobs and Cottingham went to the bench in foul trouble with about 3 minutes to play in the first half. The Green Wave went on a 12-0 run to take a 25 to 24 lead with under a minute to play. A couple of late baskets by the Redmen secured the 28-27 lead going into halftime.
The Redmen picked up their defensive intensity in the second half, focusing their energy and effort on stopping Point Guard, Becky Styers, of the Green Wave who had 14 of the Holy Name 27 first half points. Grace Jacobs and Mahogany Cottingham combined for over 20 second half points and pushed the lead to a final score of 59-43 in favor of the Redmen.

The Redmen will be back in action Wednesday evening as they host Bay Village in a rematch of their closely contested game which saw Bay win 48-42 in early December. The Redmen will play at all three levels with freshmen starting at 4:30PM, with JV to follow at 6:00PM and Varsity to tip off around 7:30PM.
